Welcome to Afrovian, a social dating and cultural connection platform designed to celebrate the African diaspora and global community.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Afrovian’s mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By creating an account, downloading our app, or accessing Afrovian in any form, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, please do not use Afrovian.
1. Eligibility
You must:
- Be at least 18 years old to use Afrovian.
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
- Not be prohibited from using such services under applicable laws.
If we discover that you are under 18, your account will be deleted immediately.
2. Account Registration
To use Afrovian, you must create an account by providing accurate and current information (such as your name, date of birth, gender, email, and photos).
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- All activities that occur under your account.
- Immediately notifying us at support@afrovian.com of any unauthorized use or security breach.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false, misleading, or offensive information.
3. User Conduct
Afrovian is a safe space for authentic cultural connection and respectful communication.
You agree not to:
- Post or share obscene, discriminatory, hateful, or sexually explicit content.
- Harass, threaten, or bully other users.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
- Solicit money, scams, or promote third-party services without consent.
- Use the platform for any illegal or harmful activity.
- Collect or share users’ personal data without their consent.
Violation of these terms may result in account suspension, removal of content, or permanent ban at our discretion.
4. Content Ownership and License
You retain ownership of all photos, videos, messages, and other content (“User Content”) you upload to Afrovian.
By using Afrovian, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, and transferable license to:
- Display your content within the app for matchmaking and community engagement.
- Use anonymized or aggregated content for analytics, moderation, and product improvement.
We do not claim ownership over your personal content, and you can delete it at any time by removing it from your profile or deleting your account.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
Afrovian offers both free and premium features.
Premium subscriptions may include advanced matching filters, visibility boosts, or unlimited messaging.
- Payments are processed securely through Apple App Store, Google Play, or our authorized payment processors(e.g., Stripe).
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your app store account settings.
All payments are non-refundable, except where required by law.
6. Termination and Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time in the app’s settings.
Afrovian reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms or community guidelines.
- You engage in fraudulent or harmful activity.
- You misuse paid features or attempt to manipulate the platform.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.
7. Safety and Disclaimers
Afrovian does not conduct background checks or verify the identity of every user.
You are solely responsible for your interactions, both online and offline.
Please use caution:
- Never share financial information or passwords.
- Meet new people in public places.
- Report suspicious behavior using in-app tools or via safety@afrovian.com.
Afrovian is not liable for user conduct, damages, or losses arising from interactions with other users.
8. Intellectual Property
All Afrovian trademarks, logos, designs, and intellectual property are owned by Omnissian LLC or its affiliates.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reproduce any part of the Service without prior written consent.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
Afrovian is provided “as is” and “as available.”
We make no warranties—express or implied—about:
- The reliability, security, or availability of the Service.
- The accuracy of profiles, matches, or content.
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Use of Afrovian is at your own risk.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Afrovian and Omnissian LLC are not liable for:
- Any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Loss of profits, data, or goodwill.
- Issues resulting from unauthorized access, technical failures, or user behavior.
11. Privacy
Your use of Afrovian is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your information.
Please read it carefully to understand your rights.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time to reflect updates in our Service or legal requirements.
We’ll notify users through email, in-app notice, or updated posting.
Continued use of Afrovian after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located in Montgomery County, Maryland.
